Builders are notorious for their "builders jargon" so we thought we would help you understand your builder. Below is a list of all the trades we offer services in with a description of what each trade would cover.

Bricklayer:Bricklayers build and maintain a range of structures including internal and external walls on new houses and commercial projects, chimney stacks, and decorative work, such as archways and garden walls. They also repair and refurbish existing brickwork and masonry.

Carpenter:Carpenters carry out a range of jobs from fitting floorboards, kitchen and bathroom units, skirting, window frames and doors in a domestic household to fixing roof trusses and partitions on a commercial project. They use a range of hand and power tools depending on the scale and type of work. |

Decorator:Decorators use a variety of different tools depending on the job, including, steamers, and different sized brushes and rollers and apply a range of finishes, such as paints, solvents, varnishes and wall coverings. They work with clients or interior designers on colour choice, finishing texture or type, and choice of wall paper patterns. |

Plasterer:Plasterers mix and apply different kinds of plaster to provide a finish to internal surfaces such as walls, floors and ceilings. They also mix and apply finishes to external walls using sand and cement, pebble-dash or stone-effect materials. |

Plumber:Plumbers install, service and repair hot and cold water supplies, heating systems, and sanitation and drainage networks in domestic, industrial and commercial premises. All work needs to comply with relevant Building Regulations and legal requirements. |

Roofer:Roofers build and repair roofs on all types of buildings. The jobs can range from stripping and re-slating a roof on a domestic house, renovating roofs on historical buildings or being involved with a new commercial development. They work with a variety of materials including sheet metal, clay tiles, roof felt, asphalt and slate tiles. |
